Love life love adventures outdoors

So I did this underestimating the hike because of the sidewalk that is paved most of the way. It was icy , snow at the top and I was in beat up old tennies. I have to admit it was not nighttime but it was slick and therefore dangerous but So so beautiful.

This is truly a testament to the 'land of enchantment' motto of NM. I went in mid October and was blown away but the beauty. This hike took my breath away towards the end as well because of the elevation gain but it could have been the sight of the alpine lakes. Just two other people were there, we stayed over and walked down the next day- some signs of black bears were on the trail ( tracks & scat) This hike is my favorite so far.

A fun hike with gorgeous wild flowers in the Spring. The top has a bad rap for lightning strikes so getting to the peak and leaving before 1PM is ideal.

Good scenery mix the whole hike. We climbed up the rock slide to the right and then down that way also- on all fours both ways- great challenge, staying overnight was relaxing and peaceful as well. Highly recommend this beautiful hike.
