A handful of us here at The Outbound are based in San Francisco and as you can imagine, a regular dose of the outdoors is crucial to our happiness (and sanity). Lucky for us, we're just a short drive over the Golden Gate Bridge from Marin County, home to hundreds of miles of hiking trails and some of the most gorgeous coastline in California. Not to mention, some of our favorite restaurants in the Bay Area are in Marin, which means every hike in the headlands is followed by a tasty meal (shout out to the bistec sandwich and fried plantains at Sol Food in Mill Valley!).
