Hike the Cliffs of Santorini, Greece

Starting in the outskirts of FIra (you can also do this trek starting in Oia-it is uphill) you walk trough the residential part of the down coming across donkeys carrying bricks and paint along with carpenters and architects taking them to the work site.

After fifteen minutes of walking, you have a view of Fira that you see when you look at any travel magazine featuring these whitewashed Grecian islands.

During the first hour and a half uphill part of the walk, you come across two churches that are more for the locals that live on the south side of the island (flat, agriculture land) on the tops of the cliffs overlooking the water and small volcanic island that sits between the two arced tips of the Santorini island.

The final church has a stunning view of Oia from above that allows you to see both a great overview of the city as well as the development from beautiful whole-in-the-cliff white and beige houses to crop rows and cattle.

The walk now is all down hill to Oia where you should watch the sunset and the farthest edge of the city. It is one of the best sunsets in the world.

You can either mosey it back or take a bus in the city back to Fira for a small fee.
