Climb the Famous California Balboa Bell Tower

This tour allows you to climb up the iconic landmark of Balboa Park. It has never been open to the public to climb until January 2014. An easy seven floor climb brings you to a beautiful viewing deck.

From the top of the tower you'll be able to see the glimpses of the San Diego Zoo, the Cuyamaca Mountains, the Coronado Bridge, the downtown skyline, the heart of Balboa Park, Point Loma, the Pacific Ocean and much more! You'll even be able to see a close up view of airplanes fly past as they land at the San Diego airport nearby. Located in the heart of San Diego you'll be able to see many iconic and famous landmarks from a bird's eye view. There are 125 steps in total, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

There is plenty of parking surrounding Balboa Park that is free. The start of this tour is located in the Museum of Man. You should arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in. The tour lasts 40 minutes with at least 15 minutes at the viewing deck to take pictures. The museum provides you with free lockers where you can store your items. Items not allowed on the tour include water bottles and bags. Tickets can be bought online or at the museum itself. Buying a ticket to this tour allows you free access to the museum of man when you are finished.

When you're finished with the tour and checking out the museum of man venture into the rest of balboa park! There are so many photo opportunities and beautiful places to check out that are free. You can easily spend all day here! There are also tons of other cool museums at an additional cost. If you're hungry there are many restaurants located in Balboa to choose from! I recommend The Prado or Panama 66 because of their beautiful ambiance and delicious dishes.
