Relax at Big and Little Trinity Lakes
Mountain Home, Idaho
6 mi
/ 300 ft gain
Because of the altitude of the this lake, the road to it doesn't open up until mid to late July. You can still get to the lake, but it is a 6 mi round trip hike down a dusty dirt road. It gets old. When the road is open, you can drive right up to the lake.
To get there, right before the town of Featherville, turn left on to Trinity Mountain Road. This is a dirt road. From here it is about 20 m...
Swim at the Belton Bridge
West Glacier, Montana
2.0
The Belton Bridge is the old entrance to glacier. You can get there by turning right down old river bridge road, which is the first right when you turn in to the West Glacier village. There are some 5-8 ft rocks to jump off, but be sure to check the water below them first. The water is gorgeous, but it is cold! Even during the warm summer months it will take the breath right out of you. Have fu...

This is a fairly steep, short hike that gives you a great view of Lake Louise. The hike begins right behind the canoe rental shop on the South side of the lake. The trail is very easy to follow and there are quite a few people that hike it. The hike is an hour and half round trip.
The hike leads you up to a stunning view of Lake Louise. You end at a wood viewing tower. You can go past the towe...
Hike to the Devil's Balcony
Qosqo, Peru
3.1 mi
/ 656.2 ft gain
Of all the hikes within the proximity of the city of Cusco, this one is the coolest. Not only that, but no one knows about it. It is a local's only secret. The only reason I know about it was because I lived there for years. There are two approaches to the hike. One that is for beginners, and is a 30 minute walk up a dirt road behind Sacsayhuaman. The other, has no real starting point but follow...
Visit the Petroglyphs in Black Dragon Wash
Green River, UtahBlack Dragon wash gets its name because of one of the petroglyphs, which oddly enough is a red dragon. The trail can be kind of hard to find but once you are in the canyon it is impossible to lose it. You follow the canyon for a bit and then you will see the petroglyphs on the north side beyond some wood fencing. I wouldn't drive anything with less clearance than a truck in here. Very scenic.
