Great scenic hike with views of the bay, 150' cliffs, and forested terraces.

There are two entrances to the park and while you can enter at the park headquarters on Shore Road, it's quicker to drive to the next entrance at Shore Road at the Peninsula Golf Club. From here, drive until you reach Eagle Tower. There are three lots you can park at: Eagle Terrace, Eagle Panorama or Tower. These three locations are also where you can start the Eagle Trail loop.

We parked at Eagle Terrace and started the hike at this trailhead. You will begin with a quick descent down a flight of steps and be greeted with views of the bay.  At this trailhead, you have two options: make a left to the the observation deck to enjoy the views before the hike or to make a right and begin the hike right away. The trail is uneven, rocky, and it can also become steep.  After walking through the forest, the trail reaches the bay.  From here, you will hike along the bay and reach the bottom of the cliffs. Continue on the trail but be careful to watch out for the signs. The Eagle Trail runs into the Minnehaha Trail, which takes you away from the parking lots. When you reach this point, make a left to follow the Eagle Trail until you reach the Eagle Panorama lot.

Hike the Eagle Trail Loop Reviews

This is one of the best trails in Peninsula State Park. Great views and excellent terrain. Fun in the fall too (when the mosquitoes aren't around)
