Get out on an amazing lake, see beautiful mountains and waterfalls from the water. The views are incredible.

Start from the Ross Lake Trailhead off Highway 20.  Hike down with your vessel 1.5 miles to the hull road.  From there you can launch your vessel.

Ross Lake is very large with many destinations to paddle to.  I went to Cougar Island and Rainbow Point then paddled up to multiple spectacular waterfalls on the west side of the lake on the way back.  The possibilities are endless because the lake is so large.  There are many boat in campsites on the lake (you can obtain a permit from the Wilderness Center in Marblemount before camping).

Kayak Ross Lake to Cougar Island and Rainbow Point Reviews

Opted to hike all the way to the resort (~3.5 miles), rented a kayak for the day and spent the whole day out on the lake. You can also pay like $3 each way for them to ferry you across the lake and save yourself 2.5 miles of hiking if you prefer. If capable I'd suggest at least hiking the whole way in. You get to walk across the dam that way. I totally plan on doing it again, and maybe even camping on one of their campgrounds next time.
