Beginning at an elevation of 6400 feet, this hike gains a short 800 ft of elevation to bring you to multiple scenic views, with many wildlife sighting opportunities, along the way. It's great to imagine that there were once watchmen in the same place, long ago, looking out for fires.

After you are done at the lookout, make sure you stay on the Sunrise Trail to head back down - there is another, also scenic trail leading to Sunrise Campground.
