A wonderful hike to the summit of Mount Ascutney near Perkinsville, Vermont.

This route to the top of Mount Ascutney is completed via the Weathersfield Trail. This trail goes past gorgeous Cascade Falls - often frozen in the winter months. There is a great spot to eat lunch at the top of Mount Ascutney to the side of the hang glider landing. While the summit itself does not offer stunning views, Gus’ Lookout is great for taking in the surrounding landscapes!

Hike Mount Ascutney Reviews

There are four trails that lead up to the top of Mt. Ascutney, and the Weathersfield Trail is the best in my opinion. You can also drive to the top and hike the summit trails. If you do this trail in the summer or fall, you will have to deal with the crowds of people that drive up. If you wait until the state park closes for the season, you'll have the summit all to yourself!
