Description

A boulder surrounded on all four sides by petroglyphs spanning centuries in age.
This roadside boulder is just a short ride down a dirt road from Moab. From the McDonalds in Moab, head west down Kane Creek Drive. You will pass a few BLM and private campgrounds as well as various trailheads. The road will eventually become graded dirt. Follow the road until you see an obvious pull off to your right a bit over 5 miles from the McDonalds. If you start descending down steep switchbacks you have gone too far.
The boulder is only a hundred or so yards from where you parked. You can walk around the boulder and view the petroglyphs spanning from potentially 100 AD to 1800 AD. There are all kinds of different petroglyphs from bear tracks, to human-like forms, to horses. It goes without saying, but do not touch or deface the rock.

Very cool rock art. Worth the trip to see. Unfortunately it has been vandalized but still amazing to see.
