Take a gander over the Stegastein Outlook which offers world class views of the Aurland Fjord. Both humbling and awe-inspiring, this is a worthy pit stop when travelling by Flåm.

This incredible panoramic view is brought to you by a man made structure that juts 30 meters out from the mountainside. To get there is a little nerve wracking at times, as the road makes many switchbacks and is usually very narrow. If visiting in the winter, definitely take one of the buses that leave from Flåm because adding snow to all of that would make any experienced driver a little edgy. Travel north-northwest on E16 to Aurlandsvangen and hop on Bjørgavegen. Continue to the top. I did notice some mountain bikers making the steep ascent, so if you're so inclined, have at it. The view will easily make up for any lactic acid you feel.

On a side note, the restrooms there might just have the most spectacular view of any in the world :)
