Description

Added by Will Benner

This 22-mile trail connects Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park in North Carolina. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery.

You can through-hike or section hike.  I did it from Tory's Den to the Corridor Trail Parking Lot in about 10 hours. Check the Sauratown Trail Association's website before traveling.  It is a bridle and hiking trail so the hiking is fairly easy. A lot of it travels beside streams. In other places you travel through open fields with outstanding views. Much of the trail is on private property so please follow the rules (stay on the trail, no camping, no pets).  Again, check the Sauratown Trail Association's website before traveling, especially the Trail Status page for closing and detours. There is a stable mid-way where you could camp.  Check out the Mountains to Sea trail guide online for more details on this section.  Segment 7 has turn-by-turn details for this hike.  It's 22 miles one-way make sure you arrange your transportation to get back to where you started.
