The Diamond Notch Falls Trail is a scenic 12 mile loop in Catskill State Park.
This trail features a beautiful waterfall, and the length of the trail makes for a wonderful workout. This trail is often used by hikers, dog walkers, and birders / for nature trips. The trail also features lean-tos, streams, ridges, and plenty of lookout spots.
If you visit Diamond Notch Falls in the winter, often times the falls will be frozen which makes for great photography and an incredible view.
Note: This longer loop starts from a trailhead off State Highway 214. For an easier, family friendly access point to the falls, begin from the trailhead on Spruceton Road (2 miles roundtrip to the falls).
