It's like a nice surprise on your walk, but not worth listening to the talk or paying the $10, I did feel obliged to listen and pay, was not pleasant. I would see it from above and not go in next time.

I really like this hike, it's short and sweet. The ocean in that area is very blue. I would recommend starting at the Hyatt for more views, you pass by different landscapes when you go down past the golf course. There is also a cave on the way, nothing that special but interesting, I recommend seeing it from above and keep going (the owner will ask for money after he traps you in his 10 min talk about the place). Then cross the stream, walk that longer beach and when you turn, follow the instructions for this hike above. The cliffs past the Hyatt and before the golf course are a great place for sunrise.

I spent a few hours at this beautiful park today. It was nice, empty (weekday in Oct), and very clean and organized. The amount of picnic tables indicate that it's probably very busy during the summer months. Went for a walk around the main lake which took around 30min, photographed some hawks, checked the campgrounds and left in time to see sunset at Ravens Roost Overlook, just up on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Today is a Wednesday in Oct and I just came back from the overlook. The view is great, the tree adds an interesting subject in front of the sunset. Even without the tree is nice because the sun sets behind the ridges and you don't get any human made structure on your frame. The 4 stars is only because there must have been 50 people there.
