An amazing view over Los Angeles that gets better at the night goes on.

At the bottom, Griffiths seems far. And for the most part, it is. but I'd prefer the trail over the road any day. Parking can get hectic and cramped quick. The trail runs mostly close to the road and holds many steep areas but with a safe approach the trail was a lot of fun. More than anything however the observatory at the top is the crown jewel. At 364 meters Griffith's Observatory stands tall over Los Angeles amidst the hills and valleys. If your'e in for more adventure, plenty more trails connect to this area. Griffith's is education on the stars and space itself inside and most of all, it's free. But that's not what I found to be most entertaining. At night once the city lights shine, Griffith's sees over Los Angeles and as far as Santa Monica. Another Useful tool provided by the observatory that, all observatories have, is its telescope. Open at night to the public (with the exception of the long line) the telescope is the largest one built and while I found it unfortunate that we could not search for ourselves, the view provided was powerful and clear. The moon was as close as if i were on it. All in all I found this to be worth while.
