The famed Colorado River flows right past this campground in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, providing an ever-flowing source of entertainment. Stroll along the banks and watch for bald eagles and other birds that nest on the campground's own island. Cast a line for trout-or cast yourself in an inner tube to float down the creek. Sparkling new amenities include a large clubhouse, swimming pool and hot tub. With easy access to I-70, this KOA makes a great base for exploring western Colorado and the surrounding mountains through scenic drives, hikes and jeep tours. Soak in the soothing waters at Glenwood Springs or take the hour-long drive to Aspen, a silver mining boomtown with century-old buildings now occupied by restaurants, shops and outdoor outfitters.
