Backpacked Shi Shi back in November, still doable late in the Fall months just be prepared for cold sea winds. Plenty of marked camp sites along the edge of the treeline. Trail can be muddy during the rainy season. Be mindful of the tides! We got caught in high tide while hiking the beach and had to wade in chest high waters, not ideal!

Straight up a boulder and glacier field from Jade Lake. During the summer months this path is easily doable in trail runners, no spikes needed. Be mindful tho towards the end of the summer months, this route can become dangerous as crevasses will begin to open up. Waterproof pants would be helpful if you plan to glissade down! Incredible views at the top. There’s also a small camp spot up here big enough for a 1-2 person tent. Photos are from July Instagram: @Karajaxx

Jade Lake. If you can go here, do it! The pictures barely do it justice. Be mindful of leave no trace, this area can be busy. Make sure to camp in designated areas. Dogs are also allowed. Mosquitos can be miserable here in July/August so bring a bug net! Trail is well maintained and decent grade. Get out there & enjoy nature!

These photos are what to expect mid January, lots of snow which requires snow shoes or skis to get to Huntoon point. This area can be busy so be prepared to get there early on the weekends and expect some backcountry skiers along this route. Check avalanche risk before heading out. There is also some cell service with Verizon. We were lucky and made it up here in May for the Aurora storm! A great place to be for a chance to see the Aurora 💫

Diablo lake is such an accessible place to be able to easily drop in a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard of your own. The glacial blue water and mountain views make it an epic place to spend the day, or even the night as you can book campsites along the lake through the North Cascade Permit system! There are little coves you can go exploring or you can hang at the little island in the middle of the lake and go for a swim. Be aware that droning is not allowed here as you are in a National Park and there is no cellular service anywhere in the park. Instagram: @Karajaxx

This place really is a Spectacle! ✨ after the 11miles out to get to the lake we spent 2 nights here camped on the stretch of peninsula. Many tent sites around but remember to camp only on established sites and not on any of the fragile plants. The trail has an easy grade and is well marked. No toilet at the lake so be prepared and leave no trace. Many great swimming access points, trees to hang a hammock on, endless berry bushes, and 360 mountain views, nothing better!
