My wife and I did this hike on a cool September day without knowing much about what we were getting into. Finding the entrance was a little bit of a challenge as we didn’t see much signage, but locals are happy to point you in the right direction. There is an entrance fee of a few euros per person. Once you’re in, the path is pretty simple and not particularly difficult. There are sections that have been restored with new stone, and sections that are a bit rocky, but nothing too difficult to navigate around. If you forget to bring water, we saw a handful of vendors along the way happy to sell you drinks. The fortress itself isn’t particularly interesting, and we were bummed to find a surprising amount of trash. The lack of trash cans plus the aforementioned vendors are the recipe for that situation. The view, though, is absolutely amazing. You can see the whole bay, city, and surrounding mountains. I recommend going at sunset.
