A lot of Park Service housing is in Moraine - it's the easiest to access, so beautiful, and a really open feeling stretch of the park.

I did this in the Autumn with a friend, and it was so beautiful to cross through the park on horseback. Really special, I would recommend!

A short, quick, and easily accessed trail - it serves its purpose!

Being above treeline in the winter on a clear day is the best. This was beautiful in December

Attempted this in early winter with just snowboots.. made it nowhere fast. Bring those snowshoes!

Hallet Peak looks really gorgeous from this approach. Big climb to the top of Flattop

Best spot from Bear Lake, I agree. The crowds are less to find a good backpacking spot

Spent the night at the lower trail head campground in August. Started hiking at 5am and only saw 6 other hikers the entire day! Lots of pikas hiding in the rock and a challenge for the girl who just wore tennies. Boots and helmets if following close behind someone. Just one hairy reach to manuever near the top. Amazing experience. Legs very very sore the next day.

So close to walk to, so immediate the views and mountains. In Telluride during the summer festivals, this is my go to morning pick me up hike! A bit steep, but this is Colorado.

A lovely Telluride walk up a mining road that does narrow near the canyon walls.Got right under the falls and felt the spray!!! Its high altitude here.Enjoy!

After the Gold King Mine spills, the Animas is slowly coming back to its lovely clear waters. I didnt catch a fish that day,but they do exist. Silverton is a glimpse of the past to treasure.

Get your paddleboard out and see this view!! Water so calm and hardly anyone on the lake.Easy access off the highway.Beautiful experience.

Quite steep and hard to get a good breath of air at the top.Took it slow and enjoyed the flowers and waterfalls.Ice lake so cold but my dog went swimming and the colorado views were stunning!

Have been multiple times, but to see the ruins covered in snow and lit up with hundreds of luminarias during the holidays was so special!!! Love.

Go to the visitors center and sign up for a ranger guided tour. This experience up the ladder and through the cave was so cool. Learned so much with the ranger we had!!!

One of my favorite summer hikes to start by 7am! Beautiful meadows and flowers. The climb up through the talus is gradual and long with just one tricky spot to jump up on to access the ridge line. Had alittle picnic lunch at the summit shelter.360* views!!!!!

explored this in late august when the river was so low. had to lay down in the pools to feel submerged.only person on the trail that day with a few monsoon showers for a weather break.

Hot springs closed for renovation. Changed owner and name to Durango Hot Springs.Stays open til 10pm so fun to soak after long day hiking or skiing.Very chill beautiful space.

This end point of the colorado trail is in my backyard! Easy access and free parking. Basically a level shaded trail for all ages, following the creek most of the way. At the bridge crossing it is uphill switchbacks til you summit at Gudys bench. Awesome viewpoint

This was alittle hard going as the day was hot and no water available except your own. Enjoyed the burro and horse trains on the trail and views of phantom ranch near the bottom and river. Felt like the southwest desert!

Hiked 6-7 miles down and came up the same day. Trail so easy on the feet and water is available. Did this in October and the quiet in the canyon was magic!!

Easy access to this hike with so much free parking - the jump into the channel is a bit treacherous but worth it on a hot day as a strong swimmer

Hung out here ten years ago, and it is so much less inhabited than Avalon. lovely place

I love this hike in the summer! The logs can be slippery as you crawl over them - careful there. And the whole experience is much better if you're wearing water shoes and not carrying electronics that you have to worry about getting wet!
