A Quick Escape to Sauvie Island

Late August Hot Sunday afternoon - The directions on the map just marks the main bridge to get into the island, from there ,a 9 mile paved road up to the beach on the Columbia River. On the way to the beach there are multiple u-pick farms. Drive is pretty scenic.The beach is ok but unfortunately it was packed and realized we were on the "clothing optional" section of the beach (there is a non-nude section) If you're ok with that cool. Went out for a swim.The water seemed reasonably clean besides the fact that large industrial vessels, recreational boats and barges are constantly going up and down the river. I would suggest visiting during weekdays unless you are into the "weekend hype".
