Confirming the other reviews about a lot of uphill climbing. It is steep at times but overall a nice and quick day hike. Zero shade but for a few scrub brushes at the top so make sure to pack sunscreen and water!

Started at the Upper Hells Roaring Trailhead. Great hike with some stream crossings, lake views, and plenty of elevation gain. Water was ice cold but felt refreshing after the hike in. Only negative was the trail is very fine powder/dirt, so make sure to leave plenty of room between hikers as it gets kicked up too easily.
