Description

Added by Kelsey Brown

Picturesque and peaceful, Turquoise Lake is a low-key destination with a lot to offer - best of all, you can arrive from the Denver Metro Area in under 2 hours.

Turquoise Lake is an 'off the beaten path' gem only 3 hours from the Denver Metro Area. The area surrounding the lake is home to some spacious and tree-shaded campgrounds. If you plan ahead and book early, you'll have your pick of the best spots within close proximity to the lake. The campground areas are some of the best Ive camped in - spread out, full of shade and trees and only a short walk down to the lake's edge.

As with most Colorado mountain lakes, people enjoying water activities are plentiful, but the beach is big enough to escape any crowds you may find!

Hikes in the area are plentiful, but if you'd like to avoid any driving once you've set up camp there is a beautiful lake trail that meanders around the outskirts of the lake - great views and plenty of room for bikers and hikers alike.

10/10 would recommend!

Escape to Turquoise Lake Reviews

Turquoise lake in Leadville is worth visiting. There are a handful of nice campgrounds along the shore, some with beautiful lake views. Most are reservable online. The road goes around the whole lake with stops for scenic viewpoints. There are hiking trails that start on this road as well. What a place!
