Beside several amazingly cute alpine lakes, great hiking trails, and wildlife, this trail gives you one hell of a view of the entire lower mainland.
Start your hike from the parking lot at Cypress Mountain, and follow the trail that is beside the closest ski lift on the left. The trail will say "Black Mountain".
You will start a steep ascent that weaves up along the side of the ski runs. Make sure to stop and catch your breath as well as take in the views. Follow this trail for about 30min as you go up and up until you reach the top.
Once at the top there are several trails you can take that lead you to the Yew Lake Viewpoint as well as Cabin Lake ( both worth checking out), and you can loop back and continue on your way to eagle Bluffs. This trail will wind you through several small alpine lakes and wooded areas.
The trails are well maintained and well marked. It can be super muddy in the spring/fall after rain so make sure you are prepared. And watch out for bears as they frequent this area. I saw one near the chair lift the morning of this hike. Also, watch out for the Ravens at the bluff. They will let you feed them by hand if you choose, but they will also steal your food if they see it in your bag ;)
In the wintertime, this trail can be used for snowshoeing.
