Roger's Pass is the hidden gem of the National Parks system and it's hidden right on the Trans Canada Highway. Easy access from the road, and a spectacular campsite is a good reward for a steep hike.

The trail head is located between the Rogers Pass Discovery Center and the Tupper. It's a good idea to head into the Discovery Center first and book the campsites as they do require pre-booking to use, and the fines can be steep. Campfires are banned at this campsite as it is a fragile alpine ecosystem, so if you are hoping for a fire I would recommend staying in the valley.

The trail starts out deceptively flat before jutting uphill steeply, follow high angle switch backs through the forest.

Before long it pops through the trees on splendid ridges along bubbling alpine brooks and beautiful alpine flowers.

You'll arrive sweaty, and overworked to the campsite, but the views are incredible. Surrounded by some of Canada's most spectacular mountains you'll be pretty well set.

The campground is well maintained with stout bear bins near the trail entrance. Beyond this are number of wood tent platforms. The best ones are located on top of the ancient grass covered moraines. There is a fast running stream nearby that provides fresh water, though it may be safest to treat the water.
