You can’t go wrong deep in the heart of Kings Canyon. Easy trail. So relaxing.

A absolute delight. Fall is a fantastic time with color a plenty though any season would be awesome. Awesome is a great word because awe is what you sense passing through these massive Sequoias. We have made it a backpacking trip camping near the creek to enjoy some extra time and as a day hike (much more typical). Love it!

You become a different person on this magical trail. When you reach the end you cry a little inside. The trail is long enough to immerse you in the experience and all your worries and responsibilities fade into oblivion. You realize happiness is not something you have to strive for its something you can relax into. Addition by subtractions. It is a stroll through heaven.

It doesn’t get much better than this. Stop by Muir Trail camp for a dip in the hot springs and you pretty much achieve perfection.

This is a great hike either up and back or loop. The loop is a challenge be prepared but you are rewarded the whole way with small streams, wild flowers, long views... and of course the lake is gorgeous. It is fun to summit the ridge behind the lake to do some boulder scrambling. Fishing is excellent. I pretty much make this a must hike every year.

Hume Lake is a busy place with a active summer camp on one end. Camping is on the west shore and picnickers on the east shore. It actually works out well for the most part with lots of canoes and kayaks out on the water. This is not a quiet escape but if like a summer camp vibe this just might be your cup of tea.

Didn’t know about this little forebay. It’s only 15 minutes each way on the trail and flat mostly. Great little walking path.
