Enjoy the serene beauty of Woods Canyon Lake in gorgeous Northern Arizona!

Is there any better way to spend a Saturday, then paddling on a glassy, peaceful lake?

You can rent kayaks at the Woods Canyon Lake Marina, or bring your own (if you’re bringing your own kayak, make sure you bring a PFD too, as it’s Arizona law).

One of the best parts of this lake is that while it’s a popular fishing spot, no gas motors are permitted on boats (only trolling motors).  This makes it an incredibly quiet experience.

If you’re lucky, you’ll spot any of the numerous bald eagles that nest in the trees high above the lake or catch them fishing for their lunch!

There is also amazing reservation/dispersed camping and hiking around this lake, and on the nearby Mogollon Rim

What to bring:

  • Water
  • Snacks (pack out your trash!)
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Phone for photos (don’t drop it!)

Seasons: Spring, summer, fall (the marina is closed mid-November through end of May – check their website for specific dates).
