We did the hike on a cloudy day and were left wondering how amazing the views would have been on a clear day. There were a few moments where things cleared up and the views were incredible. This hike is definitely still worth doing on a cloudy day but aim for a clear day if you have an option. The trail can get wet and make for slippery conditions on the way down, but half the fun is trying not to fall.

We stopped here on the road to Hana and wished we had more time to explore. Lava rock formations line the shore and make for some beautiful scenery. Take dip in the water at black sand beach.
