Adventurer at Heart

I did this short out and back with my husband and father-in-law in some serious heat, but the views were definitely worth the sweat. Bring tons of water, a sun hat, sun protection, etc. and do heed the heat warnings. (We got back just as the hottest part of the day was starting and it was about 104 degrees).

I came out to Abbotts Lagoon with some friends for a quick adventure to get out of the city. The drive alone was worth it. The green rolling hills were so beautiful that we kept joking that we somehow drove to Ireland or Scotland. The hike itself was a bit of everything in that it was sunny and grassy then windy and sandy. Definitely recommend.

Loved being able to take a short bus ride and be right into an awesome little city escape. Yes, you can still hear the sounds of the city, but for a quick afternoon hike and awesome lunch spot, I highly recommend Mt. Sutro.

Hiked this trail in the summer and loved it! There were tons of waterfalls and even one that you can slide down into a little pond. So much fun. There are a lot of trails in the area to extend your hike a little more if you want something longer. I'm guessing that hiking this spot in the fall would be even better with all of the trees changing.
