An amazing secret hike with nobody but you and amazing views of the valleys below the Grand Teton Mountains.

We planned for this hike to have an end destination point of direct views looking at the gorgeous snowcapped Grand Teton mountains. We planned to hike up before sunset and set up camp and then just take in the views. However, that was not the case at all. We began by driving out into a huge valley dotted with the wild bison of Wyoming. We reached the start of the trail on the east(back) side of Pigeon mountain. Looking up the dirt path we could only see the peak fade over the ridge with a mystery waiting for us beyond. We said lets just go check it out so we packed our backpacks, tent, sleeping bags, and a few energy bars. Little did we know the trail got fairly steep about half way up... well what we thought was half way up. At every ridge we reached we swore the great views were just over the next one but that was never the case. After hiking for about an hour and twenty minutes and only passing one other lone hiker we reconsidered our impulse choice.  Looking towards our destination we really could only see more winding path and a green hill side spotted with trees. It wasn't until we look behind us did we realize we had been trying to find the wrong view the entire time. We had incredible visibility and could see the valley for miles until the next range. We decided to set up camp on a small bare slope and boy were we in for a treat. That night we saw numerous wild elk only yards from the tent and could hear the wolves off in the distance. We were totally secluded and alone. No other human being knew where we were and the three of us had this valley to ourselves. I ended up to be such a memorable hike and one for the books.
