The scenic tower at Holy Hill offers up 360-degree views of the glacial hills of Wisconsin!

The scenic tower at Holy Hill is one of the highest accessible peaks in the area if you do not own a drone! The views are endless! There are many glacial drumlins, bluffs, and hills everywhere that fill the eye to meet the horizon.

You can park in any of the main parking lots at Holy Hill. You will follow signs for the tower climb. It is accessible through the main entrance (next to the gift shop), or via the stair climb on the southern end of the building to the right of the main entrance. Once you reach the ground level of the tower, it is 178 vertigo-inducing steps to the top!

This climb gets extremely busy in the fall due to the colorful foliage. If you can, come here on a weekday, during the morning, or evening. Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the fall have been known to get extremely busy and there may be a long wait to get to the top!

Scenic Tower at Holy Hill Reviews

The bell tower was closed to climbers in 2019. A sign posted there is asking for donations for general repairs. So it appears that we won’t be getting that great view and photo op back anytime soon. Sigh. Still —a great place to visit, especially if you’ve never been —but without the tower, not quite the same. Check their website or call for update before you go.

The view is spectacular at the top. On a good day you can easily see the Milwaukee skyline in the distance. The interior of the church is really beautiful too. Definitely worth the stop- especially when passing by on the Ice Age Trail!
