Coldwater Lake Trail is about a 12 mile loop that provides breathtaking views of the lake, surrounding hills, and occasionally a glimpse of Mount St. Helens. This hike is rather secluded, too, which means you won't be passing many fellow hikers along this trail (depending on the day of the week and season).

Once you arrive to the Coldwater Lake boat ramp, keep left. The trail will start to follow the border of the lake, keeping you close to the shoreline most of the hike. The trail is mostly flat with some gradual hills.

If you head out early enough to make it there before dark, the second half of the trail ascends the ridge that overlooks Coldwater Lake. After you've headed back to the car, find a spot by the lake to watch the sunset.
