One of the first major attractions within Arches National Park. Beautiful sandstone walls. Amazing textures, shapes, and colors of the rock formations. Duration: 30 to 60 minutes.

From the Park Avenue Trail parking area, you can walk up towards the lookout and admire the beauty, or you can hike down the steep path towards the canyon. The trail takes you down the wash to Courthouse Towers. You can either hike round trip to Courthouse Towers and back, or have someone drop you off at Park Avenue Trail and be picked up by the other end.

The trailhead is located on the Arches Entrance Road, 2.5 miles north of the visitors’ center, on the north side of the road. From the parking lot, follow the paved walkway 320 feet to the trail leading down to the Avenue.

Interesting hike

I thought this was a cool, easy hike to do that takes you through some fascinating monument-like structures. Word of warning, however: if you hike it in the middle of the day during July the 2 miles feel like 8, so bring a hat and plenty of water.

A short but beautiful hike

This hike is not very long or strenuous, but Park Ave is one of my favorite areas in the park. The towering sandstone cliffs make you feel so small, there's nothing like it. Go during sunrise or sunset and the rocks will glow! Definitely bring your camera along.

It's not the most stunning hike in Arches but definitely still pretty. It's a great night photography location as well.
