Description

Scramble up the canyon without any crowds, and some killer views of Springville and Utah Lake.

To get to the base of the canyon, park on the street closest to the trailhead right next to the houses. There should be a trail right there with a sign saying no motor vehicles allowed on the trail. Get on that trail, and follow it up in the direction of the canyon. You should be to the base of the canyon in a few minutes.

At the base of the canyon, the trail is fairly obvious, but after about 1/2 mile it starts to fade away. But don't let that stop you! Keep bush-whacking up the canyon and get on a game-trail when you find one.

After about an hour you will lose your view on the town, but you will enter into some sweet alpine forests. If you continue for about another 45 minutes, and you go in the spring/early summer, you will stumble into a creek that forms from the spring run-off. You can follow the creek all the way up to Squaw Peak Road if you want to boondock through the bushes for that long, but the view from up there is one to die for.
