Description

Added by Tim Holland

Burgess Falls State Park is located on the Falling Water River. It is a series of waterfalls with the last one plunging more then 130 feet down into a gorge.

The main draw of this park is the 1.5 mile River Trail that goes past the waterfalls and down to the gorge. The trail passes waterfalls of 20 ft, 30 ft upper falls, 80 ft middle falls, and the 136 ft lower falls. The trail is a moderately strenuous hike, but the tough parts go quick, and the views are worth it.

The trail is usually muddy and wet from the mist from the falls, so its a good idea to wear some tough boots.
