Hike the Fiery Gizzard trail

Tracy City, Tennessee

Description

Added by Kendra Isbell

South Cumberland State Park is a hidden gem with trails and waterfalls galore!

At South Cumberland State Park, a favorite trail is the Grundy Forest/Fiery Gizzard trail. Bring your hiking pack with plenty of water and snacks or lunch and enjoy the cool bridge crossings and waterfalls all throughout the Forest. Make the hike as long or as short as you want to, as you have 12.5 miles to decide! Make sure you have a map or the AllTrails app. And be mindful that there is a spot where you cross the creek where the bridge was washed out. It leads to more waterfalls and rock formations along the trail. You will park at the Grundy Forest State Natural Area parking lot and start on the Fiery Gizzard trail.
