Photograph the Matterhorn
Details
Added by Luan Baruti
Capture your perfect photo of the most famous mountain in the world. Enjoy the great reflections at Stelli Lake (Stellisee). Camping in the area of Zermatt is not allowed. There is a mountain hut (Fluhalp) nearby that might have availability.
Take the underground cable car from Zermatt Sunnegga valley station. At Sunnegga, take the gondula to Blauherd. Stelli Lake (look out for Stellisee) is only about 15 minutes from Blauherd station.
Thousands of photos have been taken at Stellisee, so add a few more to that number. Stelli Lake features an excellent view and reflection of the chocolate side of the Matterhorn.
Bonus: For extra fancy photos, make your visit at Stelli Lake at dawn to catch the sunrise. Note that you'll either have to spend the night or walk all the way up from Zermatt very early.

First light on the Matterhorn. Nothing quite like it. It was fun to see this in person after only seeing pictures all these years.
