Pontresina, Switzerland

Great day hikeCompletely surrounded by natureClose contact with a glacierViable for the whole familyGreat inspirations for nature photographs
Along the track of the Bernina Railway there is a stop called Morteratsch. If you stop there, you start walking along the homonym valley till you get to the Glacier. The particularly of this adventure is that it one of the few glaciers accessible to everyone! Intact the path that brings you to the glacier is very easy and accessible to everyone, with a skill level accessible to beginners.Instead to those of you who wants to feel the pure ice, I suggest to continue the path hiking also on the glacier.until the desired distance and altitude.Beeing a pure glacier I absolutely suggest this extension of the path to people with an advanced and expert skill level, because of all the difficulties and dangers of every glacier (crevasses...).It's an adventure for everyone and very exciting, especially on the ice!
