Hike the Lands End Trail

2.9 miles  - Out-and-Back Trail

Added by Julien Bacal

Lands End is one of the best hikes in the city with great views of the coastline and the Golden Gate Bridge. Start either next to the golf course or closer to the beach near Sutro Baths.

The Lands End Trail is a fairly easy 3 mile hike along the coastline of SF. The highlights of the trail include access to China Beach, views of the Sutro Baths and the Golden Gate. This is a great hike if you're looking to explore the city or you want to get a fun hike in with scenic coastal views without having to cross the Golden Gate. It's also not too strenuous, making it a family-friendly hike. Keep an eye out as this path is also used by mountain bikers and trail runners.

Dogs are allowed here leash-free if kept under voice control, but leashes are recommended for the safety of your dog and others who use the trail.

Looking for a spot to stop off and picnic? Check out Mile Rock Beach along your route.

Nice hike with views

You can see the sutro baths at the start. It was popular on a weekend. Lots of people jogging and listening to music.

Quintessential SF Bay

Sutro Baths + Lands End offer the views of the bay that tourists imagine. Expect lots of people and usually cloudy/windy/chilly weather.

Great for tourists

This hike is definitely great if you are visiting SF and want to see the golden gate bridge and the sutro baths. There are lots of locals jogging, and it's a nice way to get some exercise.
