Description

Added by Fern Koan

If you're heading back to Los Angeles or Orange County after a jaunt in the Anza-Borrego, stop by Doane Valley to cool down. There are multiple trails for different skill levels to explore including the French Valley Trail (Easy), Thunder Spring Trail (Intermediate) and the Mission Trail (Advanced).

Between Orange County and San Diego is a quiet green oasis in Palomar Mountain State Park - with a lot of wildlife (deer and birds!). Great for small groups and a great easy hike with options for camping and picnicking.
