Dream Big

Now know when your dream has Changed!

By: Sam Hall + Save to a List

I've lived in Los Angeles for near 4 years now! Boy has time flown. I moved to the City of Angels thinking that I wanted to work in Hollywood; and I was dreaming big for a kid who grew up in Ohio! I moved to LA to learn from the hub of film production. Since then I've moved into freelance and I've still been dreaming. Yet, in the process and years I've come to realize that now my dream has changed.

I've experienced a city full of dreams and broken dreams. Lots of people move to LA chasing a dream, and some give up quickly. Others stick it out and find new dreams. I've made it past 2 years, and for LA, that's making it. Now I've realized that it is ok to give up on your dreams. This is especially true, when your dreams aren't all that you imagined them to be. It's the best to realized when dreams have changed, and let go of your old ideas of what they used to be.

Dream big and dream of an ever changing and challenging life. That's probably the second biggest piece of advice that I can give anyone. The biggest piece of advice is to trust Jesus Christ for your salvation. Drop me a line if you ever want to talk about that.

Now I have worked in the Hollywood Production Industry for almost 4 years and I have come to realize that I have a passion for making content that impacts and excites others to fully live. I started at a camera rental house in Los Angeles and then moved along as a freelancer. I have a keen attention to detail and a passion for the outdoors. I've camped and hiked all over southern California. It's been a full life, yet also a crazy life.

Motivation for excellent work is the fuel that drives me. I am eager to work in the world of film and video production, and be a key player. I actually get lost in problem solving and experience deep work finding solutions. I'm seeing that I got lost in a dream that was no longer my own. Now I'm dreaming big again! I'm seeking to transition into outdoor adventure video and film productions -- you know make documentaries & action sport videos.

Even though I've had amazing experiences all over LA and worked in Hollywood, the industry for outdoor video production doesn't really exist in LA. Presently I'm looking at moving out to Denver. Since my many trips to visit my brother over the last two years, I have come to recognize a few things: Colorado has people way more my speed, endless adventure and the types of gigs that really get me excited.

I am working to make a transition out of Hollywood and into adventure film making. Right now I'm just learning how to transfer into that market, but I'm excited to tape the leap. It's gonna push me, and I'm ready (and scared).
