Great day hike on the AT.
Starting at 1550 feet, this hike goes straight through the woods on a rocky, but easy downhill slope 3.5 miles to Smith shelter. Smith shelter is a large open air shelter to set up camp in. Large fire pit available. Privy available. 7 miles round trip.
