Description

Three Pools is easily accessible swimming hole on the north fork of the Santiam River. There is the possibility to cliff jump from multiple locations. This is a great place to bring the family, but keep in mind that there's a parking fee and that it can get crowded on the weekends in warmer months.

To get there from Salem, Follow Hwy. 22 east to Mehama. Turn on Little North Santiam Road (FS 2209) and proceed for 12 miles to Three Pools Day Use Area.

Three Pools is by far one of the most popular swimming holes in the Northwest. With multiple swimming holes within just feet from one another it attracts over 15,000 people a year. Super clear water with a couple different locations to cliff jump from makes it the perfect summer get away. Near the bottom there is a calmer section that would make great for those with little kids.

Its easy to avoid the water with strong current, but always be aware of your surroundings. Swimming and cliff jumping can both be very dangerous even though you're at a moderately safe place with lots of people. Be sure to check out all the current conditions and dangers.

Have a blast at Three Pools and don't forget your sunscreen!

Swim at Three Pools Reviews

Such a fun trip with my two best friends. Definitely hard to get to but it was so worth it swimming under the sun, jumping off of rocks and taking beautiful pictures. Would do it again in a heartbeat. (Most fun in hot hot hot weather)
