With numerous amounts of wildflowers and breathtaking scenery there is no wonder why this is a popular hike. The trail has a lot of loose rocks that makes for sliding around a lot. So wear some good footwear!The lower flanks of the trail are currently very nearly overgrown. The foliage is lus and in bloom! Wildflowers are all over the upper slopes, above the timberline. Now is the perfect time to complete this hike.

The main trail is pretty steep and difficult in spots, it is a 1,640 foot elevation over 2.5 miles. It begins at an elevation of approximately 1,650 feet at the park's parking lot and climbs to a viewing platform with an elevation of approximately 3,290 feet.
