Description
Added by Lanessa Pierce
During the summer this is an easy hike to just pull up to the trail head with less than 1/4 mile hike. The real adventure is the 2+ mile hike in, in the snow, along the North Umpqua River during the winter.
After passing the Toketee Falls Trailhead you will drive until you take a right on Basket Butte Rd. The road is closed to car traffic during the winter so you get the pleasure of hiking two miles into to get to the Umpqua Hot Springs day use area and trailhead. You will pass a number of seasonal waterfalls on the road. When you get to the trailhead you will cross a foot bridge that will take you through lush green forest to a steep trail to the top. The hike is only 1/4 mile but pretty steep so be ready. When you get to the hot springs you are greeted with five gorgeous pools with a view overlooking the North Umpqua River.
PS Clothing is optional. If you go during the open season, there is a day use fee.
