Tumalo is one of my all time favorite cascading waterfalls standing at 100 Feet tall! Although long exposures can be tough with the mass flowing water, using a fast shutter speed and a wide angle lens will more than satisfy ones heart. You can also hike to the base of the falls and shoot some rad photos from the water. Just be open minded and willing to get wet to get some unique shots to take home.

Starting at the Skyliner trailhead you have two options, One is to follow the road down to the falls or to take the more scenic route along the river up to the base of the Falls. Due to current road construction the only way to access the falls is to hike in. Once the road construction is complete the walk will only take about 5 minutes. If interested you can take the Happy Valley trail for another 4 Miles and see more small waterfalls.

Winter is my favorite time to go to Tumalo because ice formations form at the bottom of the falls that makes for beautiful landscape photos. Make your way to the top of the falls to see the raging river cascade over the cliff. Definitely do take the trail up to the top of the falls to overlook the beauty (as long as your not scared of heights)
