These post-apocalyptic-looking concrete ruins are the result of a landslide in the 1920s and have since been covered in layer upon layer of vivd artwork.

This short hike is tucked behind a gate and there are signs not to trespass so go at your own risk. For this reason, while it's far from a secret, you'll never find Sunken City terribly crowded.

Type in 500 W. Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro, CA, 90731 to your directions app. Drive all the way down Gaffey St. and make a left onto W. Paseo Del Mar. Park as close to the dead end to the left as possible, as this is the entrance.

Go to the southern most point of the concrete fence and boost yourself up and over it. You’re going to see a small steep path to the right of some shrubbery. Go down the dirt path and underneath the fence posts. You’ll see where the land has eroded and the concrete that once held the posts is now floating with nothing around it, creating a large gap with enough space to squat and slip underneath. Climb up the other side and walk south.

In about 100 yards you’ll see a few dirt paths and an expanse of ruins before you, covered in artwork. Follow the clean direct trail down into the ruins and explore.
