The Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area is a nature park in the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. Pine Hill Trailhead is the first phase of the park and includes 3.5 miles of trails.
All the trails are color-coded and marked with matching blazes every tenth of a mile. The 2.5-mile Northern Approach Trail has elevation gains of 330 feet and is more challenging than the 1-mile Heartleaf Loop. Both trails also offer well-marked "shortcut" trails that will bypass the full loop and get you back to the parking lot quicker. The Northern Approach Trail has a spectacular view at the top of the mountain, the highest peak in NC east of Greensboro at 987 feet.
The parking area includes ADA parking and restrooms. Just off the parking lot, on the Northern Approach Trail, are two picnic tables.
