A quick hike up to a scenic overlook of Caribou Lake. A great sunrise location for those early birds.

From Hwy 61 in Lutsen, you'll turn on Caribou Trail (Hwy 4). You'll drive about 4 miles and turn right for the public boat launch area. There will be a small parking area on your left before the boat launch. This trail is apart of the Superior Hiking Trail. Follow the short little trail up to the road you just came from and cross the street. You'll see the trail leading uphill and into the woods.  It's all uphill with about a 230 foot elevation gain, but it's a fairly short hike. Follow this trail until you get to white sky rock. Once you reach White Sky Rock, this is the end. You won't be able to go any further. I really recommend this once the fall colors change in late September and early October.

Hike to White Sky Rock Reviews

Beautiful hike in early October when the colors are changing, very steep but definitely worth it

This hike is short but don't let the distance fool you. It is very steep and rough. The view at the top is definitely worth it. I would recommend going up for sunrise!

Great hike to white sky rock! Continue on to lake agnes for even more rewards. All around enjoyable!
