Silver Lake Basin is a secluded, quiet lake located in Champion Township, Michigan. The lake is on the Dead River about 30 miles north of Marquette. There is a dam, which created the Silver Lake Basin. Unfortunately, the dam failed in 2003 but was rebuilt in 2008.

Silver Lake Basin provides multiple recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages. You can get onto the water or take a stroll along the lake's edge.

Fishing
You can cast your line into the clear waters for bass, perch, and trout.

Paddling
Kayakers, SUPers, and canoers can paddle along Silver Lake Basin, taking in the views of surrounding forests and wildlife. Keep in mind, that small to medium watercraft may be on the lake.

Winter
The lake freezes over during the winter months, providing an opportunity for ice skating.
