Stand up Paddle Cascada Tamul

Aquismón, Mexico

Description

Added by Heather & Aaron Koch

Turquoise waters, freshwater caves and a 315 foot waterfall. Gorgeous river canyon with impressive rock formations.

To arrive at at Tamul Falls you will need to paddle 1.5 miles up stream on the Tampaon river.  There are 2 minor rapids to portage.  You can hire locals to paddle for you and give you a ride in a colorful Panga.  Halfway to the falls you will find a huge fresh water spring gushing from a large cave.  Cueva del Agua is great for swimming and having a snack.  Total trip paddling to Tamul is about an hour.  The main attraction is the Rio Gallinas falling into the Santa Maria.  315 feet tall and absolutely incredible.  The paddle back is 25 minutes with current helping the entire trip back.
